Welcome to Edition XLI. First and foremost, thank you for being here. It means the world to know that my passion and story are connecting with others like you.

Let me start by sharing a bit about myself. My name is Jah-Mila, and I’ve finally found the courage and confidence to follow my dreams—the same dreams I once buried deep, convincing myself I wasn’t smart enough, creative enough, or simply good enough. For years, I lived a life that didn’t fulfill me, a life where I constantly settled. This unhappiness spiraled into depression, robbing me of self-care and self-love.

I was stuck in an unhealthy, toxic marriage, weighed down by a reality that I no longer recognized. I felt lost, trapped, and invisible. Honestly, if it weren’t for my children, I might have never found the strength to break free. They were my light in the darkest moments, and they gave me the courage to take that first step toward change.

I filed for divorce, moved back home to be with family, and surrounded myself with people who genuinely loved and supported me. Slowly, I started to heal. It began with changing my environment, which shifted my mindset, and from there, my healing journey took shape.

During this journey, I started to rediscover who I was—the woman with big dreams of launching a clothing line, working for a beauty and fashion magazine, reviewing the latest trends, trying cutting-edge beauty products, attending Paris Fashion Week, or maybe even walking the runway (people always told me I should model!). I realized I wanted to take the lessons from my own journey and help other women find their confidence, heal, and become the best versions of themselves.

I’ve always loved writing—it was my escape from life’s chaos. The idea of starting a blog crossed my mind many times, but I always made excuses: I was too busy, too tired, or too afraid. Then, as life often does, the universe forced me to slow down. My health began to decline, with my body growing weaker and constant, debilitating pain. I reached a breaking point and decided to put myself first. I left my job, and for the first time in years, I had the time and energy to focus on what truly made me happy.

And that’s how Edition XLI was born—a space where health, wellness, beauty, fashion, travel, and lifestyle come together. This blog is my love letter to the woman I used to be and the woman I’m becoming. It’s for women like me who want to level up, embrace self-care, and discover their true potential.

Why Edition XLI?

The name Edition XLI carries a profound personal significance. It is inspired by a pivotal piece of my family’s history—a newspaper article titled “Verdict Edition XLI” that chronicled the story of my great-great-grandparents in St. Charles, Missouri. This article, and the number XLI (41) within it, represents resilience, faith, and the strength to overcome adversity.

For me, Edition XLI is a way to honor that legacy while rewriting history through a modern lens. Just as that article told their story of perseverance, my goal is to create a platform where women can tell their own stories, embrace their power, and elevate their lives.

The number XLI symbolizes transformation, growth, and new chapters. It’s a reminder that no matter where we come from, we have the power to redefine our future, reshape our narratives, and create something extraordinary.
